Female villager still in ICU after assault by the FRU

This bulldozer should be sent to tear down Zakaria’s illegal ‘palace’ and satay house in Kelang instead of tearing down houses in Kg Berembang in Ampang, dislocating some 60 poor Indian and Malay families. According to Kohira of Jerit, a young female villager (Norhasliana Osman Taat, 22 year-old) was beaten by the FRU. She was fainted and rushed to the Gleneagle Hospital in Ampang and her condition is still critical at this point of time. A total of 23 villagers and activists including S.Arulchetvan of PSM and Chang Lih Kang of Suaram were arrested. They were only released at midnight. Suhakam Commissioner Datuk N Subramaniam will hold a pc at 2pm today at his office. PDRM and Selangor MB Khir Toyo must be taken to task for such brutal and inhuman actions.

Last Saturday, a Chinese temple built on private land was demolished by force by the Bukit Mertajam local authority. Six men were arrested (including an assistant of MP Chong Eng) when they were trying to protect the temple. Penang Chief Minister must assumed full responsibility on the matter. The YDP of Bukit Mertajam must be sacked for such irresponsible actions.
