|I was informed that the BN candidate Aziz Kiram will be dragged to the courts in Raub over a “land-cheating’ case on 25 jan 2007.He was sued by his own member in Raub some two weeks ago.You must have still remembered that Azmin, Ezam and Irene of PKR were prevented by the SPR from contesting in the 2004 general Elections simply because they have some cases pending with the courts. So why the double standard, Tan Sri Rashid?According to the Malaysiakini reporter who are reporting from Raub, the people of Batu Talam seem to be excited about the by-election. They have complained that BN has been making empty promises over the past elections time and again. He also reported that MCA Wanita chief Dr Ng Yen Yen was forced to withdraw her statement in which she attacked the Independent candidate Ng Chee Pang personally. She belittles Ng by saying that Ng has only SPM and he should be studying in TAR College through a scholarship from the Chang Ming Thien Fund. She was very embarassed when she was told that Aziz Kiram is also a SPM holder!!!
Her statement also backfired as most of the 1,800 Chinese voters in Cheroh/Batu Talam have no opportunity to receive higher education thanks to the racial biased quota system and the the poor leadership of the Umno-led Barisan Nasional Government, in which her party (MCA) is a component.
Talking about the Chang Ming Thien Fund, I wish to remind the bloggers that I made a police report against the former MCA chief Ling Liong Sik over the fund in 2004 because the MCA mismanaged the CMT Fund and as a result the Fund was not put to use after its inception some 20 years ago. I also wanted Ling and MCA to justify why there was a big shortfall in the accrued nterest.
The police did conduct an investigation based on my report. The new MCA Chief On Ka Ting later annouced that the CMT Fund has increased by some RM6 million without any explanation. It was 22 years late before the contribution made by the late Chang Ming Thien was finally put to use. CMT Fund would have been hijacked by MCA leaders if not because of the police investigation based on my police report. And now Ng Yen Yen has the cheek to talk about the CMT Fund! If the CMT Fund was organised properly and put to use soon after its inception, even the father of Chee Pang could have the opportunity to pursue higher education with the scholarship. Tak Tahu Malu Ke, Dr Ng?
Ng Yen Yen is also the MP for Raub. She has not served the people of Cheroh/ Batu Talam very well as far as I know. For instance, I have to take the initaitive to clean up and beautify the only chidren playground in Cheroh together with the local DAP branch some years ago. She only fix the lights for the only basketball court in Cheroh after much pressure from the DAP.
She also failed to relocate the rubbish dump near the village for years. Houseflies were every where during the dry seasons. One can expect a high number of protest votes from Cheroh in this by-election.
Malaysiakini has the story…
