Machap by-election: Opposition unity crucial

I have to agree with the Editorial of MerdekaReview.com that the opposition must not disappoint their supporters over a seat like Machap in view of the impending General Elections. I was also saddened by the open exchanges by some of the opposition leaders and members in the media. It appears to me that another political spat like Lunas is in the making. When will they ever learn?

To be blunt, even a united oppositiopn front would not stand a good chance to win Machap(where almost three quarters of the Malay voters there are Umno members). What more with a disunited opposition?

(Reformasi)

    sokong sekali!

don’t read chinese, but i really really believe that opposition unity is everything!

i truly hope a united front will be achieved – may cooler heads and long term vision prevail in machap!

    dear nat,

you are right. i ‘m really, really saddened by some of these “comrades”.

guess what, i received a number of calls today about machap. one of them made this remark-“i sometime wonder, some of these so-called opposition leaders were actually spies who were serving the interest of the barisan nasional.why can’t they discuss such matters in close-door meetings, instead of “passing remarks “openly, knowing pretty well that the media in general were hostile to the opposition parties?”

dear nat, can you blame this chap? he’s a long time supporter of the opposition since the reformasi days.

The other one threatens to stay away totally from machap if there is a three-cornered fight.

but it is really not too late. we have until april 2 to resolve the issue. i am still confident that the two parties can look at the big picture in the interest of our fellow malaysians.imagine both parties went in and both lost their deposits. no? if BN decides to buy votes, RM 500 x 10,000 voters only equals RM5,000,000. really no big deal for BN. no?

    take care, ronnie

Why is there NEVER a by-election in my constituency?
